Computer history

Post by +61411137828 »

The history of computers dates back over 200 years. During the 19th century, mechanical calculating machines were designed and built to solve increasingly complex number-crunching challenges. Here's a brief timeline of computers:

- 1801: Joseph Marie Jacquard invents a loom that uses punched wooden cards to automatically weave fabric designs.
- 1821: English mathematician Charles Babbage conceives of a steam-driven calculating machine called the "Difference Engine" that would be able to compute tables of numbers.
- 1848: Ada Lovelace, an English mathematician, writes the world's first computer program while translating a paper on Babbage's Analytical Engine from French into English.
- Mid-20th century: Turing machines are developed, capable of computing anything that is computable.
- Late 20th century: Computers become more accessible and powerful, leading to advancements in various fields.
